Endress+Hauser ranked first overall and was awarded Platinum Certification for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in 2022. "There is a long way to go and we will strive to forge ahead on the path of sustainable development. Being certified platinum shows that we're moving in the right direction." Matthias Altendorf, CEO of Endress+Hauser Group.
The ambitious goal of sustainable development
In response to the growing demand for sustainability, Endress+Hauser has created the new position of Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer. Julia Schempp took office in April this year. She is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Group's sustainable development strategy, promoting the development of related ideas, initiatives and activities, and improving the ecological, ethical and social fields.
We plan to finalize the Group's common CO2 emissions target by the end of the year. At the same time, efforts are being made to improve the group's corporate social responsibility indicators.
In the EcoVadis evaluation, Endress+Hauser achieved excellent results in various areas. "We take feedback from EcoVadis experts very seriously and take program-specific scoring improvements seriously." Julia Schempp said. The report highlights positive manifestations of sustainable development in office environments, working standards and human rights. "The only way to keep a good score is to keep improving."
Increasing in importance
The sustainable development of enterprises is becoming an important business factor. "Every day, we get inquiries from our customer partners about CSR." Gerd Gritsch, quality director of Endress+Hauser Group. "To help our customers achieve sustainable production, we must first ensure that our own business and production are sustainable and set a good example."
As the number of employees increases, so does the issue of sustainability. During the construction of the new office building in Reinach, Endress+Hauser fully focused on environmental and climate protection. The building was designed with input from staff, who formed working groups to regularly explore new ways to achieve sustainable development.
The idea to place two sets of beehives on the roof of an office building came from staff. One of Endress+Hauser's employees is an amateur beekeeper who cares for the insects. We have successfully collected the first batch of honey.
